Enchanting
Enchanting puts enchantments on various pieces of gear. Each enchantment attempt involves a piece of gear and one or more shards. The probability of an enchantment attempt succeeding depends on the tier of the shard used. The level of the enchantment also depends on the tier of the shard. A shard cannot give a higher-level enchantment than its tier, but it can result in a lower-level enchantment. Shards are available in five tiers. Shards drop from most mobs (not rats, crabs, or batterflies).
Enchantment attempts have a high likelihood of failing. Failures consume the shard. The success rate for enchanting is 8% per shard tier. So a tier 5 shard has a 40% success rate, and it's all downhill from there.
If an item has an unwanted enchantment, using a failed shard on the item at the enchanting table will remove the enchantment. The original shard from the enchantment cannot be recovered.
A failed shard can also be used to dismantle an item for shards. The number of shards varies from 1 to 5, and the tier of shards is random and based on the item quality. Rare items (e.g. ruby armor) give t3, t4, or t5 shards when dismantled. Legendary gear should always give t5 shards when dismantled, but don't dismantle legendary gear.
Enchantment can only be performed at the enchanting table in the hell dungeon (southeast corner of Kaetram kingdom swamp, the area with frogs, slimes, and cows).
Failing an enchantment using tier 5 shards has a 5% chance to give a failed shard.
There are different enchantments available for different gear pieces:
